Andrea + Jason – Evergreen Alderfer Three Sisters Park Engagement Session – Evergreen, Colorado

Evergreen holds a special place in Andrea + Jason’s life, and especially the area around Alderfer/Three Sisters Park since it will be the new neighborhood they will call home. Plus, just look at that barn! I had to pull myself away just so we didn’t spend the whole afternoon there! So we spent the session joking, playing with Boone (Or Boon-Boon as I started calling him), and trying to stay warm on this amazing sunny Colorado winter day.

Later this Summer these guys will be tying the knot in Durango, Colorado — in a fun, weekend-long event! So excited to be making the trip up there for the wedding!

New Meeting Space in Denver – Denver Wedding Photographer

While living in California, I shared a studio with one of my best friends in the industry, and was sad to move away, but excited for the new changes. After over a year of working from home and having a dedicated home office, I knew I needed a little piece of community back. If anything, I needed a place to meet couples that didn’t involve scoping out a restaurant and arriving up to 2 hours early just so we could be guaranteed a table the moment they arrived! Yep, I did that more than a few times. 😉

So this month I joined a co-working space in Denver called Union27! Temporarily we are using a rad space at the Taxi Building (Building #2) called WiMi Spaces. And when I say it’s rad I mean it! It’s like a industrial loft, but without the parking issues of a downtown location. They even allow dogs, so Milo is going to be joining me every chance I get!  This space is for other creatives, and the future location is just for those in the Wedding Industry. You know, the crazy people that love weddings so much they want to be at one every other weekend?  Yeah, that’s me.

I can’t wait to have a meeting here and I hope to meet some Denver couples planning their 2016-2017 wedding. Coffee/Tea and Trader Joe’s Snacks on me!

Walking Colorado One Trail at a Time – Devil’s Backbone Loveland Colorado

Last weekend, Jay, Milo and I went walking. I could lie to you and say hiking, but lets be real here, I don’t think Milo’s little legs are quite mountain-dog status yet. He’s just getting used to the crazy cold snow on the ground.

About 3 minutes from Jay’s work, there’s an open space called Devil’s Backbone. As soon as you drive up to the parking lot you can see why, with dinosaur-bone like rocks jetting up the hills. It’s pretty cool and reminds me of a mini Garden of the Gods. We only walked about 2 miles, but once spring time comes I can see us going even farther…one day maybe we will be crazy and walk all the way to Lory State Park in Fort Collins (that’s like 20 miles) since it all connects!

Kate + Cory – Loveland Pass Anniversary Session – Dillon, Colorado

Last week, Kate and her Husband, Cory joined me in Dillon, Colorado for a drink and snow portraits. While I’m “new” to Colorado, I feel like I’ve been one with the snow for years. Weird, right? Well for the last two years I’ve spent most of the Spring/Summer/Fall months traveling around the US, so most of my experience with Colorado is with a foot of snow on the ground. You tend to learn quickly how to layer and to always keep gloves and a hat in your jacket.  California family, it’s not that bad, really. I would take snow over 110 degree summers ANY day! Plus, sweater weather. I never actually knew what sweaters were for living in Southern California…and now I own enough for a small village. 😉

Kate + Cory eloped 5.5 years ago, and 4 years ago on New Years Eve they partied with their closest friends and family. But a blizzard got in the way of them having any outside photos of the two of them, so this winter they decided to change that! We explored Lake Dillon for a short time and then drove up the Loveland Pass to finish the session with a beautiful snow storm going on around us. They were amazing in the freezing temperatures and hid their hand-warmers well!

Wedding Albums and Sign in Books – 2016

2016 is the year for improvement and one of the items I just checked off the list is my albums! This year I’m simplifying my album collection and offering a beautiful handmade linen album for all of my couples. I want to make the process as painless as possible and put a heirloom item into my couple’s hands. Something that means more than just a Facebook like or Instagram comment. Something that you can feel and pass down to your kids one day.

For all new bookings I’m offering $100 off your album if added to your Wedding Collection at the time of booking. And for my past/current couples I’m extending that offer for 30 days. If you want to have something to hold from your wedding day, (well other than your new spouse!) let me know. I would be happy to help. <3

Ivy + Dan – Arrabelle Vail Square Wedding – Vail, Colorado

Coming from California, I always knew about Vail, Colorado…but I just pictured snow bunnies on the slope…in my mind it was winter all year around. Kinda like a snow globe you find in the airport gift shop. And I’ve never been so happy to be wrong! Vail is stunning in the summer!! Kara Pearson Photography invited me to help her photograph the wedding of Ivy + Dan at the Arrabelle Resort in Vail, Colorado and yet again I was blown away by the perfect blue skies, beautiful flowers, and glowing, happy faces!

Have a Very Merry Christmas – Our Family Photos 2015 – Denver, Colorado

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! This year we had our photos taken by the very talented Cassie Rosch in Denver, Colorado. I would like to title this session “Milo Party” since he clearly stole the show.

Life is messy, with a touch of chaos and dog kisses…but that’s what makes it perfect.

Elizabeth + Steve – Garden of the Gods Club and Resort Wedding

Every time I’ve worked for Kara of Kara Pearson Photography my jaw spends a lot of time on the floor. Her weddings are stunning, and I love watching her interact with her couples. It’s always refreshing to watch how other photographer work, and Kara is perfect at capturing raw moments.  I had the honor of helping her photograph the wedding of Elizabeth + Steve at Garden of the Gods Club and Resort, along side Park Floral and A Vintage Affair

Vi + Danh – Korakia Pensione Engagement Session – Palm Springs, California – Part 2

To see Part 1 of Vi + Danh’s engagement session click here!

Vi + Danh, how do I even start? They not only flew to Palm Springs for their engagement session, but they chose one of my favorite locations in all of the city. Korakia Pensione is a relaxing resort with so many nooks and crannies…it’s easily a photographers paradise. We spent a few days relaxing by the pool, eating Thai food downtown, chatting next to the fire for hours, and getting extra excited for their wedding in Philly next year.  I captured so many beautiful photos I’m splitting their blog post into two! That or I just had a really hard time picking my favorites….

Carly + Zack – 1 Year Anniversary Session – Bishops Peak Couple Session – San Luis Obispo, California

A year ago today, Carly + Zack tied the knot at Disneyland. It was such a fun day filled with the sparkly bridesmaid dresses, happy family, friends that partied so hard the roof actually fell down (really), and riding Disney Park rides at 2am. We even had an empty Disney Castle for couple photos….where I shot one of my favorite photos ever. It was a day I will never forget and feel so lucky to have been a part of it.

So when Carly contacted me about doing anniversary photos in San Luis Obispo a few weeks ago, I jumped at the idea. A little hiking at sunrise? Down. It was such a unique experience and I’m blown away by my couples ability to pick amazing locations!

Congrats you guys, and I can’t wait to help you guys capture every year from here on out! <3
