Wedding Day Audrey + AndrewCafe Pinot || Downtown Los Angeles, California

Audrey + Andrew’s wedding was such a lovely reminder of why I love California. Great weather, mind-blowing florals, and light that I want to pack up and bring with me to Colorado. We started the day in an Airbnb overlooking Downtown LA, complete with 360 window light…and made our way to the Disney Concert Hall for a tearful first look. One thing that I absolutely love about the Disney Concert Hall is the lighting mid-day, no matter the time it makes for beautiful images!

Endless Summer Inspirational Wedding Shoot

Shortly after my trip to Maui for Tamara + Chris’s wedding, I was able to collaborate with a fantastic group of vendors in Southern California on a styled shoot inspired by both California’s vintage endless summer and Hawaii’s lush greenery. Let me just say that I was transported back to Maui way too many times to count while shooting this amazing inspiration.

If you want to see more be sure to check out the feature on Green Wedding Shoes!

The shaved Ice by Dolly’s Cotton Candy was SO good (and pretty), especially on a hot day!

Just a little awesome extra, Beth of Commemory Art created this beauty from pieces of the day…after hearing about it I had to make sure to photograph it! Isn’t this such a cool idea for the home after the wedding day?

Kristen + Kevin { Featured in Ceremony Magazine – San Diego + LA – February 2014}

What a fantastic wedding gift! While I was on vacation for my wedding (I’m still on cloud 9 if you are wondering), Ceremony Magazine let me know that Kristen + Kevin’s amazing wedding was featured in not only one, but two issues of Ceremony Magazine! Congratulations you two, you guys deserve every ounce of happiness and celebration!

You can find the 2014 LA + SD edition at your local bookstore, or you can take a peek at the digital magazine here.

You can even see a few photos here in the San Diego edition!

Natalie & Michael { Downtown LA Lot 613 Rustic Western Wedding Inspiration }

I had the pleasure of photographing a very unique styled shoot idea and since it’s been featured on Style Me Pretty …I can now share it! Everyone was a pleasure to work with and I loved seeing the mix between rustic and modern!

Event Designer + Venue: Lot 613 | Floral Design: Wedding Flowers By The Purple Iris | Dress: BCBG Max Azria | Models: Natalie Elguera & Michael Calabro | Picnic Table Rentals: Pico Party Rents | Rentals: Circa Vintage {Rentals}

Jessica + Eveni { Downtown LA Vibiana Wedding – David Tutera Unveiled }

I’ve been waiting to blog this fantastic wedding since April. Back in March, Jessica contacted me and told me she was selected for David Tutera’s new show,  David Tutera Unveiled and needed a wedding photographer. The only catch was she had NO idea what her wedding day would be like, and the only info she had for me was the date and the city. Oh, and that date was only a few weeks away. No pressure, right?

Once she connected me with the producer I was able to learn all of the juicy details that my couple didn’t even know. It was so fantastic! Photographing a wedding that is also being filmed for a TV show isn’t something new to me, so I knew what style of crazy I was getting myself into. And boy, I signed up for some gorgeous crazy. I will let the photos do the rest of the talking:

Through All of Space + Time { Doctor Who Inspired Wedding Day Styled Shoot }

This project was a serious labor or love. Kiera of Jakfoto Films and I are huge fans of the BBC TV show Doctor Who…and one day was just hit with the idea of putting together a chic, Doctor Who styled inspirational shoot. It gave us a excuse to watch more of the show AND try to pack in as many show references as possible without hitting people over the head with them. We like to call them Easter-eggs. Our goal was to design a gorgeous wedding for those not familiar with the show, and for the fans let them have fun picking out Doctor Who references.

We love this idea of mixing geek with chic…something we don’t see too often sadly.

Because Kiera and I knew this shoot would become a larger production, very early on we asked Jen of First Pick Planning to come on board. With our powers combined….we created this eye candy.

We also had the honor of being featured on Green Wedding Shoes today! Feel free to check out the feature and give all the vendors involved some love.

Jakfoto Films also created a video that included even more nerdy references and the best fake vows I’ve ever heard.

Note: We put together this inspirational styled shoot because things like this make my heart happy. It’s a real couple that modeled for us, but all of the ideas and styling was put together by the vendors involved. Jakfoto Films and myself did the bulk of styling and DIY-ing (yes, we stayed up till 3am for a few weeks straight glittering balls and painting old windows), but it wouldn’t of been put together without the help of everyone. I would consider myself so lucky to photograph a real wedding like this. Lets make Geek Chic a thing. And I will be there in a double-heartbeat to photograph it.

Planning your own wedding? Want to see how we gathered our ideas for the shoot?You can see our Pinterest board here.

Tessa Kim Veils and Accessories { 2013 Look Book }

Tessa Kim rocks my world. Last October Tessa flew me up to Seattle to shoot her line…including a new intimates line. Everyone that Tessa had on board was a complete pleasure to work with, and I absolutely love everything she put together!

Today her 2013 Look Book was featured on Green Wedding Shoes (along with a giveaway!), so be sure to check that out and give Tessa Kim the love she deserves!

Once Upon a Wedding Shoot in San Dimas { Featured on La Belle Bride}

I think this week could kick any other week in the behind. Or rather, just this month alone makes my insides do happy-dances and backflips. For me this looks like a moonwalk with single pointing fingers in the air. Moving wildly.

First. I’m going to Seattle in two weeks to learn from the amazing Jasmine Star. Yeah. I won a spot in her workshop….I know, crazy. Even when I was buying the airline tickets I couldn’t believe it. I will be in Seattle from April 7th-10th. Side Note: If you ever wanted a couple session from me and you live in Seattle, I’m free on Sunday before I fly out that afternoon. 🙂

Then this morning I find out that my San Dimas styled shoot was featured on La Belle Bride. I’m in a constant state of giddiness right now. So if you see me in the next few days, ignore the random squeaks of excitement coming from my direction.

Tessa Kim Look Book { Featured }

I woke up this morning to something better than a gallon of chicken noodle soup. Last month I did a shoot for Tessa Kim, an amazing bridal accessory designer and was totally ecstatic with the images.

Today she launched her new line, and out came an outpoor of love and features. She totally deserves it and I’m so happy I can be a part of it. Being the super-generous person that she is, shes offering a few giveaways to a few lucky people. Check it out. 🙂

In the next few days I will get my favorite images together, but until then you can see everything on Tessa’s website.

944 Magazine Appearance { Backyard Winter Wedding }

I made it into two magazines this month!!! *Insert happy dance here*

…without a photo credit, but I pinky swear the photos are mine. 🙂

Thanks to Intertwined, my photo graced the pages of the OC 944 Magazine.

It’s kinda ironic, years ago I used to collect this magazine religiously because I loved the photos so much. To put a cherry on the top of this visual sundae, it’s the very first wedding issue. I’m also in the LA version of 944 thanks to Mintwich and her amazing design. And that’s coming from a fellow graphic designer. Her invitations/place cards/menu cards are top-notch.
