Viola + Alan { San Francisco Engagement Session }

Viola and Alan rock my world. Not only are they rock-star models, expert stylists and pro location scouters…but they are great people. Oh. And they flew me up to San Francisco for a session. You become an instant BFF when that happens. <3

You guys want to know the reason San Francisco was such a huge part of their engagement session? Well the city brought the two of them together. Viola is from Indonesia, and Alan is from Hong Kong. I know. Amazing. And just in case you guys were wondering, we had a very funny conversation about how their parents talk to each other. It involves a lot of english surprisingly.

Anyways, years ago the two of them ended up moving to San Fran for different reasons…then they met and fell in love with each other. Since I’m a hopeless romantic, finding someone that grew up on the other side of the world is a kinda a big deal. It makes my heart go all pitter-patter.

Viola and Alan are getting married this December in both Indonesia AND Hong Kong. If these guys have anything to do with it, I just know the weddings are going to be amazing.

For example. No big deal…we just started the session in a freaking carousel. I don’t know about you guys, but here in LA it would take thousands of dollars in permits and lots of red tape to shoot on a working carousel. But of course Viola and Alan made it happen. 🙂 It was the perfect start to an amazing day.

While we were shooting the carousel was doing its thing…spinning at a very fast speed. I might of looked like a hot mess hanging from the bars like a monkey, but Viola and Alan were the calmest people around. I wish I could take direction as well as these guys.

While we were walking to the oh-my-goodness-its-a carousel, I spotted this little archway. The light in there was a-maz-ing and Alan + Viola brought it.

Not thinking the day could get any better, we drive to this location. I was temped to hug the trees because I was so happy.

And this one is going to be a large canvas in my office…..

I have to do a shout out for Tessa Kim. She’s the designer of the hair piece Viola is wearing so beautifully. While we were shooting I was secretly hoping Tessa would chose Viola to be the next model of her new line. *hint hint*

Months ago, Viola found me from the lookbook shoot I did with Tessa. She loves the hair pieces as much as I do (another reason we can be BFF’s).

You two slay me. I can’t take how adorable (and handsome) you guys are.

Since San Francisco is the home to my really good friend and fellow J-Star Jet Anthony Quesada, I invited him to come along and help out. Thanks for your help Anthony! Without you I probably would of ended up getting lost somewhere! Much <3 and I can’t wait till the next time we can hang out!
