I was editing this morning, and when I turned around I saw Lulu just relaxing. It kinda hit me that I’m still struggling with this concept. Growing up, I would go camping with my family and spend time relaxing almost once a month. Now life is just kinda whooshing by. I miss laying in a tent, my sleeping bag up to my eyes and just listening to the birds making their morning calls. When we would go camping near the beach, I would sit in my uggs and big sweater and watch my dad waxing up our surf boards for the day. We would eat campfire breakfast burritos then suit up and jump in the cold water. After a few minutes the cold would turn into something inviting and addicting. But most of all we would give ourselves time to rest and relax. I have to remind myself this every day.
Going back to this morning…this is what Lulu does every day. So jealous.
And even though she’s a scaredy-cat and will tear up anything that I leave laying around, I’m happy I rescued her from the pound almost a year ago. She reminds me that I should relax a lot more.
