So this was an amazing experience. I photographed my first Indian wedding with Eric Lennstrom last December and I finally can share what I shot that day. To say I was nervous is an understatement. I was SO worried I would knock over a statue of a god or do some other despised act that would get me banished from Indian weddings forever. To prepare, I watched as many bollywood movies I could get a hold of and ate lots of Indian food. (I can use that as an excuse, right?)
Luckily I have a lot of memory cards, because I took a photo of every little thing that happened in front of my eyes. I might of well have been shooting video. I had no idea what was important, so I captured every last minute. I’m so greatful for Priyanka + Murali’s families, because they helped me though the day and pointed out important events and objects. I learned SO much and fell in love with the culture and customs. I think I also got overloaded with color and sparkles. It was amazing and I can’t wait till I can photograph another Indian wedding.
Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn in Calabasas
Temple: Hindu Temple in Malibu
Reception: Gaylord India in Beverly Hills (best food ever)
I think Priyanka was just excited the last layer of jewelery was being put on.
This hands down is my favorite image of the day. Catching little moments of soft affection is what I think love is all about.
This was so cute, they had to get up and walk around the fire three times without letting go of each others hands.
Because you can never have enough jewelry.
You know what I love about a crowded dance floor? Everything. Because I can get awesome shots and dance at the same time. How do you think I get in the middle of the crowds? 🙂
