Kylie + Andrew { Houston TX - The Gallery Houston Wedding }

With Kylie + Andrew’s wedding, we ended 2013 with a bang! Earlier last year I met with the two of them in Laguna for a destination engagement session, and I was so incredibly flattered that they wanted me to make the trip out to Houston Texas for their wedding!

Instead of flying out like ~~sane~~ normal people do, Jay and I decided to make a road trip out of it! Yes, all 3,000+ miles in a car with the guy I was planning on marrying just 2 months later. If that’s not a test of a relationship I don’t know what is. 🙂 And now I can happily say is that it was one of the funnest trips I’ve ever made with my now-husband. For the two weeks we spent traveling, most nights we just booked a room at a random Holiday Inn we found on the way, but a few nights we spent with family. We visited the Carlsbad Caverns, Rockwell, Downtown Albuquerque, Santa Fe on Christmas, Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, and every Cracker Barrel I could find (Cheese Grits and Sweet Tea for the win!). Oh and then there was New Years Eve when we stayed at a random hotel in Downtown Albuquerque that had a totally cheesy party down in the Lobby. We totally got the dance floor moving that night. 😉 It was an amazing trip, and I just know it will be one of the special memories we will have till we are all old and wrinkly.

But going back to the special wedding that made this road trip possible, Kylie + Andrew showed us every ounce of Southern hospitality possible. I had such an amazing time photographing their wedding and I loved seeing two people surrounded by an overabundance of love. We started the day at Norris Salon in Houston, and then made our way to this cute little venue called The Galley in the Galleria-area of Houston. Every time Kylie gave me a huge relaxed smile in her grandma’s fur I knew every mile on the road was worth it.
