Susan + Gabe { San Juan Capistrano Mission Engagement Session }

I’ve known Susan for years, we used to get together with a group of friends and watch movie + TV show marathons almost weekly.  At the time I was just starting my business , but that didn’t stop Susan from making me pinky promise that I was going to photograph her wedding. Since most of these conversations happened between bites of Pho and watching Bear Grills run across the screen…I didn’t think it was actually going to happen. But last year I got an amazing email from Susan asking me if I was available on her wedding date. And if not she was actually going to change the date of her wedding. She told me all about Gabe, the sweet nerdy guy that loved cameras and Star Trek…and how they were getting married in a swanky retro restaurant because they have a love of good food.

Susan + Gabe’s engagement session was a breath of fresh air for me. We photographed at one of my favorite spots in San Juan Capistrano, and they just relaxed perfectly into each others arms. That is, between the goofy faces and skipping off into the distance. Oh and Eugenia of E2Beauty did an amazing job making Susan photo ready! I loved her hair + makeup! Made me want to go out and rock a red lip.

These guys are getting married this June at Park Ave Restaurant…the tastiest, coolest looking restaurant I’ve seen in some time. They even have a garden on the property!
