I love you Grandpa. I will always miss you and remember you for your warm smile, saltless peanut butter, and spending warm summer days working on old trucks and packards in your workshop. You also had a handkerchief that I thought was the funniest thing, but in a cool way. You taught me how to sign up for an email account when I was 13, and showed me how to drive a stick shift one summer. I was only 12-13 years old, so I thought I was so cool. I still cant really drive a true stick-shift…but if you give me a green Japanese mini-truck I will be fine.
I was so proud my grandpa was an MIT graduate, and would tell everyone that you worked on the first ATMs and one of the computers that went up to the moon. You are amazing and it pushed me to be a better “Benjamin”.
In the last few years I made sure to give you a hug every time I saw you, because it was my way of showing you I loved you. I thought you were going to make it and see my children…you beat cancer. You were a superhero and getting stronger every day.
You would always move around trucks for my crazy photoshoots. I’m happy that you got to see me first hand doing what I love, and how crazy I got over the “gorgeous light and old stuff” on your property. Even though you didn’t know it, you motivated me to start my own business.
I love you and will always miss you. I just wanted you to know that.

This is sweet and made me cry. I also feel the same about my own grandpa, he was an amazing man and was also a photographer, he IS the reason I got into photography. 🙂
It sounds like you had an awesome grandpa! I have no doubt he knows exactly how much you love and miss him. This is a beautiful tribute. Sending you and your family lots of love as you say goodbye to someone so special. xoxo
