Boy, this was a beautiful day and I was surrounded by so many sweet and thoughtful people. After spending a good amount of time with Ashley + Omead’s during their Big Sur Engagement Session, I truly felt lucky to be able to photograph their wedding day. Something about hiking though the wilderness brings people together. 😉 Ashley and myself are very similar: great taste, close-knit small family, a goofy (but amazing) husband, love of a fur baby, and the thought of being the center of attention isn’t high on the list of aspirations.
This day was also a little different for me, because I photographed a Persian marriage ceremony for the first time. When I walked into the Sierra Plaza square my jaw dropped with how intricate and beautiful the tablescape was laid out. Each item held a significant importance, and sugar/sweetness was a huge theme throughout the whole ceremony. Sweetness is something I can totally get behind btw. Within my line of work I’m constantly exposed to new, beautiful traditions, and I’m so glad I can add this one onto my list.
Ashley + Omead, I can’t wait till we do that camping trip one day…I will be bringing flannel instead of my camera.
