I love Seattle. Not only is it a gorgeous location, but it’s the place where I decided to quit my full time job over two years ago. The few times I did fly to Seattle, I never got around to exploring the areas outside of the city, but for Aimee + Eric…I’m so happy I did. We started at Gas Works Park and ended the day at one of my favorite locations of all time, Discovery Park.
Aimee + Eric both live in Seattle and are getting married this September in Denver, so it was only fitting for me to fly up to photograph the engagement session. Earlier that day, I was sitting in my hotel room watching the rain pour, mentality preparing myself to shoot in the rain and praying that I would be thrown a few patches of clear sky. Just one or two, that’s all I needed. More than one local told me that just the week before Seattle had sunny, wonderful weather and my trip I wasn’t so lucky.
The wind was nuts and every 60 seconds the weather changed…until I pulled out my camera and we started shooting. Don’t get me wrong, the wind was still nuts…but the clouds parted, the rain dried up and my blood-pressure lowered significantly. I consider it a miracle.
