A couple of months ago, I put together a post to help my couples coordinate their outfits for engagement and anytime sessions. I still get questions from time to time, so I though it would be great to maybe put together outfits to show every few weeks. That and it’s an excuse for me to go browser shopping.
For this week, I started with a red dress that I found on the Anthropologie website. I really loved the bright color, but the thing that won it over for me was the design in the tummy area and the little ruffles. Since I wanted to dress the look down just a few clicks, I found a pair of teal lace earnings. They are on the long side, so they would elongate the neck of the wearer. That and they are just plain cute. Since the teal color isn’t bam-in-your-face…it works really well with the red. I didn’t want to introduce another color in her outfit, so I found a pair of cute, neutral colored shoes. On the front of the shoes, it has a interweaving design, and that kinda talks with the lace design of the earnings. But again, it’s subtle and not bam-in-your-face.
I think guys have it easy. Just stick with dark wash jeans or slacks, a grey dress shirt and a charcoal vest to look even more put together. If you’re wearing jeans, its important to have a tie/bow-tie to dress up the look. I found a red bow-tie that was simple, but tied together with her outfit. For shoes…as long as your not wearing flip flops you’re golden.
Randomly, I just learned that if you have two or more buttons on a vest or suit jacket, you never button up the bottom button. I know, I’m a wealth of knowledge…but I’m here to share.

Sure cute, Candice! Love the red and teal together. It makes my heart happy!
Great idea for a series, Candice! And I love your style. I second Kristin’s adoration for the color scheme as well. 😉
You know I love Anthro! 😛 Good choices!
I love it and anthro is my shop, so I don’t blame you! Gorgeous choices 🙂
LOVE this idea! I also love that the shoes are “talking” to the earrings. 😉 Great job Candice, I can’t wait to see more!
