Valerie + Kellen – Engagement Session – San Diego, California

So I absolutely LOVE making an engagement session unique to a couple. Bringing in little things that mean a lot, or picking a location that is a part of a couple’s history. It’s so much more meaningful than just pulling a photo off a Pinterest to re-create. Don’t get me wrong, I even use the never-ending-scroll site when I’m brainstorming or need inspiration…but there is something amazing about creating inspiration for the world rather than just reproducing it. 

When we started brainstorming for Val + Kellen’s session, I found out that Val and Kellen started talking years ago because of their mutual love for Smash Brothers on the N64. It was an easy decision to work that into their engagement session somehow! Jay and I met them at their super cute place in San Diego and before turning on the N64, we walked across the street for some coffee. After playing (for not long enough) we made our way to Torrey Pines for a little golden sunset action.
