This post is looong overdue and I think I’ve been working on it in my head for the last 5 years. My wedding packaging has been evolving since I photographed my first wedding in 2009, but a few things have always stayed the same. #1 – teal. No matter what my logo or other branding might look like, teal has always been my favorite color.
One of the ways I work teal into my branding is my boxes. I get my boxes custom made by H-B Photo Packaging with a silver logo embossing + fun silver bow. They make so many different sizes I could never order them all! So I stick with a few favorites — my USB box and handful of prints boxes for large print orders.
The USB custom flash drives that I send out are made my UBS Memory Direct. I’ve always loved (and used) wooden USB drives since I made the switch from DVD years ago. While I do send them out as a form of image backup, like all technology it could always fail a few years down the road. So BACK UP YOUR IMAGES in at least 3 other places (and not just on computers!). The USB is great to share with friends and put with your Wedding Album.
Why the different logos? Well I love them both! The USB is featuring my new logo, and I felt no reason to re-print the beautiful teal boxes with my new logo till I used up the ones I already had. I try to be kind to the earth every once in a while. So you might see a mix! 🙂
My Wedding Experience magazine is hands down my favorite thing that I give to my couples. Since I see my images in a digital format 95% of the time, seeing all of my favorite images grace the pages of this informational magazine makes it all feel just a little more real. It’s filled with tips, timelines, Ceremony + Reception ideas, and what I’ve learned about the flow of a wedding day. I get them printed with Blurb and designed them with the help of my graphic design degree and Katelyn James. She’s also a past Graphic Designer and fabulous person!
I hope that excites you about your own wedding day and for the photographers out there inspires you for your own packaging! <3 Candice
