I love when my couples find awesome locations. The extra legwork always pays off with images that make me swoon.
Irice and Jerwin decided on using a waterfall in Pasadena as their backdrop. The only downside? It was going to be a 1/2 mile hike. No biggie….me and nature are BFF’s.
So I invited Jay to assist me that day and we made our way to the nature center…where we found out the hike was actually 1 + 1/2 mile hike. After a moment of quiet panic…I just thought “why not?”. When do I ever have a chance to shoot in a waterfall? So with props in hand we started the hike, jumping rocks, streams, and almost getting lost along the way.
Luckily, we made it to the hidden waterfall 10 minutes before sundown and ended up hiking back in the dark (using an iphone and a mini flashlight to light our way). But guess what? I’m happy for every moment of it. I loved the adventure and Irice + Jerwin were SO fun to hang out with. Plus I discovered that Jay was Bear Grills in a past life and knew how to navigate with only a simple line map.
And I have to give a shout out to Irice’s makeup/hair artist: Karen Lee. We hiked 3 miles in total, and Irice looked amazing the entire time. If that’s not an accomplishment in the makeup world, I don’t know what is.
I+J, I will never forget our adventure, thank YOU for having me be a part of it! And thank you Jay for keeping me alive. 😉
