FAQ

Sara-Craigin-Gallery_0001Can we meet you before the wedding? Of course! I would prefer it! I only shoot a limited number of weddings every year, and want to get along with all of my clients (a.k.a. my couples!). I love meeting for lunch and getting to know each-other before booking any sort of wedding package. I want to be as happy to spend the day with you and your family as you will be happy to spend the day with me. If you live outside of my studio locations, I would be super happy to set up a meeting to chat over Skype!

Where are you located?
I lived in Southern California all my life, but in 2014 I moved to Loveland, Colorado with my Husband and our small fur army. Not much has changed business-wise, since I’m normally flying out somewhere amazing a few times a month!

Do you charge a travel fee?
My Destination Wedding Collection has a $1,000 Travel Credit Built into the package to make things extra easy for you guys! That covers most travel fees you would have to worry about, but if you are getting married in an exotic location I bill any additional travel costs after the wedding day.

Can you pencil us in or hold our date?
Unfortunately, I am unable to reserve a date on my calendar without a contract and a retainer payment.

What if you are booked on my wedding date?
Still send me an email, I can refer you to a list of photographers I would trust to shoot my own wedding. I still want you to have fabulous photos even if I’m not the photographer shooting them.

How do you require payments to be broken down?
I ask for 50% retainer of the contracted amount to save the date and the balance to be due 30 days prior to the wedding.

How far in advance will you book?
I book weddings 16 months in advance and anytime sessions at most 2 months in advance. If you book an anytime session more than 2 months in advance, the date will be floating.

What do we need to do to book you?
I will need the date of your wedding, and an electronically signed contract with your retainer payment. I use an online booking system that creates your personalized contract, collects contact information and creates invoices. I also send out customized wedding questionnaires though this system. (Love it-so easy to use.)

What form of payment do you take?
Check + Credit Card

Do you provide High Resolution files?
Yes, all of my packages and every hour of shooting include color-corrected files. I provide a signed release so that you may make prints on your own. I can recommend local and online print labs.

Will the files be marked with a logo?
Nope. Even though I would love for you to be a Candice Benjamin Photography cheerleader, it wouldn’t be nice to place my logo on your memories.

Do you shoot black and white or color or mix?
I shoot everything in color and convert images to B+W during my editing process. If an image is delivered in B+W, it will stay B+W.

Do you provide online proofing?
Yes. After the images are color-corrected I upload them for viewing and even give the option for guests or yourself to purchase prints though my online proofing system.

How many photos do you take?
Every wedding is different, but in general I deliver 100 images per hour of shooting.

How do we see our images?
After 6-8 weeks you willbe able to view all of your images via my online proofing. The gallery remains online for at least 12 months.

How many photographers will be at my weddings?
For weddings, myself and a second photographer will be working to photograph your special day. For more elaborate weddings, you have the option of adding on an additional, non-shooting assistant.

What is your turn around time?
Anytime sessions take 3-4 weeks to edit and weddings take around 6-8 weeks to turn around.

Do you have a back-up plan just in case something happens that makes photographing the wedding impossible?
I work with a network of photographers all over the world. I am a back up photographer for them and in the rare case that there is an accident or illness, I can rely on them to step in if need be.  In addition, my second photographers are accomplished photographers that can take over in any event that I can not.

We don’t want any getting ready photographs, can you arrive when ceremony is starting?
I might not be the best photographer for you, but I could always connect you with a better match!

How much time is needed for portraits?
I request at least 45 minutes for bride and groom portraits in pretty light.

How do I contact you?
You can always reach me by email (info {at} candicebenjamin.com) or by filling out this contact form.
